For a major oil & gas logistics facility on India’s west coast, Unicom Infotel designed and integrated an end-to-end surveillance ecosystem covering jetties, storage yards, and control rooms with real-time monitoring, thermal detection, and fully redundant recording built for a site that never stops operating.

THE CHALLENGE
A sprawling coastal site with no room for blind spots
A supply base that moves energy resources out to offshore platforms is exposed by definition. Long jetties, wide storage yards, and remote access points stretch across a large footprint. Operations run around the clock with no pause for a gap in coverage.
The facility needed a surveillance backbone that could watch every corner of the exposed site, including after dark and in poor coastal visibility, while keeping every camera recording even if a single component failed.
Just as important, operators needed one unified command view instead of a wall of disconnected feeds, and every piece of outdoor hardware had to hold up against monsoon coastline conditions.
THE SOLUTION
An integrated surveillance, network, and power ecosystem
Unicom Infotel designed and executed the project end to end, right from camera placement and network architecture down to power redundancy and outdoor cable protection.
Coverage & Cameras
A mixed fleet of fixed, PTZ, and thermal cameras gives the site both:
- A wide static coverage
- The ability to actively track activity across jetties and yards, with thermal imaging closing the gap in low-visibility and nighttime conditions.

Centralized Command
A video management platform brings every feed into one interface for:
- Live Monitoring
- Playback
- Analytics
It runs on a fully redundant recording server so the system keeps recording through a hardware failure.
128-channel VMS · N+1 servers · multi-display video wall
Network Backbone
A stacked core switch pair anchors the network, with industrial-grade switches distributed on-site and a point-to-multipoint wireless link.
This technology bridged areas that standard cabling couldn’t reach economically.
Layer-3 core switching · site-wide PoE · outdoor wireless bridge
Power & Resilience
An online UPS in hot-standby configuration, dedicated server-room cooling, and IP66-rated outdoor enclosures keeps the system running through power fluctuations and monsoon exposure alike.

THE IMPACT
What changed for the facility?
01. Site-wide coverage, day or night
Every jetty, yard, and access point is now within view, with thermal cameras closing the visibility gap after dark and in poor coastal weather.
02. One system, not a patchwork
A centralized VMS replaced what would otherwise be fragmented monitoring, letting a lean control-room team watch the entire base from a single set of live and playback views.
03. Built for uninterrupted uptime
Redundant recording and dual power backup mean the facility isn’t left blind during equipment issues or grid fluctuations.
04. Room to grow
The network and licensing headroom built into the system let the facility add cameras and expand analytics as its security needs evolve, without re-architecting the base.
